Mr. and Mrs. Hughes

Rachael Bonney and Dustin Hughes

Wed at Cochino Lodge

Nogalus Prairie came to Cochino.  It was a pleasure to have many of the residents of Nogalus Prairie, Porter Springs, Lovelady, Grapeland, Crockett and Lufkin  What a great group of family and friends that helped to celebrate the wedding of Rachael and Dustin.  The family gathered on Friday to begin getting the Lodge in order for the wedding. The décor of fresh flowers in gold glitter decorated jars and rustic wood adorned each table. Photographs were also placed on the table along with deer antlers and pearls. The bride's cake table was decorated with 4 crates as  the backdrop and  held cup cakes and artistic decorated cookies. The  Bride's cake was placed in front of this and was beautiful as well as delicious. Vintage mirrors reflected the many lights creating a glow about the whole table.  The Groom's  table was about fishing, deer hunting, antlers, an old jalopy and last but not least...a sign which spelled it out...."The Hunt is Over".  The mother of the groom made a delicious cake decorated with ornate tiny deer. The cake stand was a wooden box that was made by Dalton Gauthier and blended perfectly with the rest of the décor.
Over 150 guests enjoyed a delicious BBQ dinner, prepared by Lufkin BBQ.  Chantilly Bliss owned by Sherry Gauthier was the Buffet Coordinator who set it all up.  She had the buffet area  decorated with large candles, greenery, palm trees, ferns  moss, a stump table, lanterns and signs.  The guests were transformed into another setting from the wedding ceremony into a very unique environment where the  food was kept hot, was arranged, served ,  tea made and the  coffee ready for the guests.. all coordinated and provided by Sherry of Chantilly Bliss.  Guests were served promptly and then proceeded to the Reception area to dine and have cake.

Sound, Music and event announcement was provided by Dalton Gauthier.  He gets all of the important events rounded up so that the photographer can capture those Memorable moments. There was a race to catch the Bouquet and Garder and Laurie Cordray Photography recorded it all. She photographs often at Cochino and so happy to see her here.
The Guests dined and visited with each other rounding out a beautiful celebration of the marriage of Rachael and Dustin.  I was delighted that the Bonneys and Hughes chose Cochino for their wedding celebration.  I knew Rachael's grandparents,  Bill and Peggy Bonney since I was 10 years old and that has been a LONG time .......and the Bride's parents are also named Bill and Peggy Bonney as well. I must say I was confused about these names at first.   Great seeing the Campbells of Nogalus as well. We recalled who was kin to whom most of the night.

With the network of great families and friends this new couple has, life will be easier with these good role models for them to rely on and follow.
Mr. and Mrs. Hughes may you live happily ever after.
