Celebrating the marriage at Cochino Lodge
Mr. and Mrs. Ethridge
Family and friends began on Friday to prepare Cochino for a huge wedding. Décor was brought in, all sorts of refreshing drinks( displayed in galvanized tubs, old lake boat and claw footed bathtub) and food and BBQ pits. Many guests were in attendance for the rehearsal dinner and preparations. The dinner was held Friday in the Parlor of the Lodge. Shannon, mother of the bride and Aunt Tonya Ethridge and others began working and did not stop until Sunday. The day of the wedding arrived and everyone began to decorate to create that lasting memory and perfect day. The décor was so meaningful and personal. The guest 'book' was a lovely quilt made by grandmother of the Bride. Old buttons and vintage thread were in jars decorating the registration table. So meaningful and artful and interesting. The food for the reception was prepared by the Stafford Boys--Monte and Shawn. Several cooking 'pits' and lots of meats were carefully cooked throughout the day and served to over 250 guests. A double line made the service go quickly and there was so much food left over. You did not leave hungry for sure and it was delicious. They are great at catering and so competent. You don't worry with the Stafford's in control.
Tables had an assortment of décor. All related in style but different. Old lanterns, crochet, colorful bottles, crystal, log slices, glass bricks, vintage books, photographs, deer horns and flowers. The cakes were delicious and beautiful.
The families were delightful. I met those again whom I had known from St. Francis Church years ago. Others who had married here. Those who had helped to prepare past weddings for family. Those who had attended weddings before as guests. And of course who had never been here before. These new acquaintances were a delight to know as well. It is always a great reunion.
Visiting began with those first arriving. The East and West Verandas and Tree House deck, and Dance deck were filled with guests awaiting the wedding. The Ceremony took place under the Old Oak Tree. Seating for 200 using vintage benches and pews along with garden chairs were full. The rest of the guests lined the East Veranda seated in rockers and around bistro tables. The arch was so "old world and vintage" flowers and fringe curtain. Just perfect for the new couple to say vows. The officiant was Pastor Russell. Such a delight to meet the pastor as his dad and brother had been here before at the brothers wedding and I knew them. Like I said, it was a reunion as well.
Dalton Gauthier was the Wedding Music and Sound. Dalton orchestrated the events once the ceremony began. Where the Bride and Groom, groomsmen, bridesmaids and attendants as well as guests go and what they do throughout the event is guided by Dalton. You don't miss any event of the wedding night. And you proceed down the aisle and dance the night away without a thought as to what to do next.
What a beautiful wedding, family and friends. I saw no stress. Just a lot of fun and the making of a memory to last forever.
….and they will live happily ever after.
Please enjoy the 'house' photos by Suzanne. The professional photographer will have photographs later.
