Bolton and Larson Wed at Cochino Lodge

Once Upon A Time............

Deep in the Eastern Forest of Texas where the Pine Trees towered toward the heavens , the birds and animals paused for a great ceremony, where the winds were gentle, where the heavens gave a large  rumble for a second and a light shower ended as soon as it began......a special  ceremony was about to begin.  This was  a many faceted event that  would unite two souls...body and mind....and a large family that will  follow in the years to come.
John Emory Larson and Johnna Bolton found their soul mates.  The Ceremony was orchestrated by the couple who had planned it very carefully.
The Guests began to gather in the Forest of Cochino. Incense wafted throughout the forest and created an ambiance beyond description.  The wedding was held on lower ground below the hill.  The Guests gathered and formed a large Circle that the Bride and Groom would stand.  Both the Bride and Groom were barefoot and made their way to the middle of the circle.
Dalton Gauthier, wedding officiant,   began the ceremony with the elements of ....Earth, Fire, Water, and Air and their Love being like all four elements physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually intertwined. This would create the perfect balance and create the perfect ribbon to bind the two hearts into one.  The Hand Binding Ceremony was chosen showing that their lives and spirits were also bound in a union of love and trust. The Groom  created a circle within the larger circle with  rose petals,  that represented that the new couple were within the larger circle of family and friends, but also were within their own private circle.  The circle of friends were part of the smoke purification or smudging performed by the bride and groom. The burning of a bundle of sage and allowing it to smolder produced smoke that purified and cleansed.
A feeling of Old World somewhere between east of the sun and west of the moon prevailed at the Lodge.
The family and friends helped to prepare the Lodge for the Rehearsal and Reception. Rehearsal dinner was gumbo , decor and set up by the bride and grooms families (Jeff and Tillie Bolton and Joy Larson.   Sarah and Jack Larson (worked non stop both days) along with Daniella, Melissa, Stephens, Lolita , Marla Brown, Joey Bolton and Melissa).    Fresh flower arrangements were created by Alyssa McCorkendale, Owner of  Bride and Bloom .  Alyssa  did a fantastic presentation. I hope to see her and those marvelous talents she has , again at Cochino. The flower arrangements  were made of  vegetables  such as : beets, Kale, turnips, garlic twirls, radishes and many more.  The Bride's bouquet also had a variety of vegetables. What a unique surprise to see this. I loved it. The food was prepared by  Rusty Adams and Clayton Brown.  .  Cooking began Friday Night, the cooks staying awake cooking throughout the night and into Saturday until it was time to Eat. Two BBQ pits on wheels and with with a total of 5 pits hooked up between them made for a LOT of cooking.  Cooking on site was a sight to behold as well. Fresh Rabbit was prepared, whole hogs, beef, pork, chicken.  Along with Salads of all sorts and those delicious bacon wrapped jalapenos and cheese. made by Jeff Bolon himself.   The cooked Hog's Head was placed on the Bride and Groom's table on an ornate platter and was fitting and proper and rounded out the perfect reception ambiance.
Guests were from Magnolia . Conroe, Rockwall, El Campo.
Grandfathers and Grandmothers made the journey to see their grand children united forming a new family. Pete Larson, grandfather of the groom, of  El Campo, was delightful.
Carley was the Hairstylist for the wedding. Dan did a great job with the music.  He created sounds
that fit perfectly with the feel of the wedding.
Dalton Gauthier was the Wedding Officiant who enjoyed the wedding ceremony and the couple as well. Great work Dalton.
The spiritual art vases that lined the walk into the forest, were made by Dorthella Branch.

May  Mr. and Mrs. John Emory Larson live happily ever after, have many children, realize all their dreams, and keep the flame of love that never dies.
