Dyches and Thomas

Morgan and Christian
 Mr. and Mrs. Thomas

A great celebration at Cochino Lodge of the families and friends of Morgan  and Christian.   Many familiar faces were in attendance as the families had celebrated weddings here before. Lovelady, Latexo, Crockett, Grapeland and Houston County were well represented. I saw those who I had not seen in 50 plus years.  Bonnie Owens Keen was one of the guests that I was happy to see. She and I were former "Clarettes" .Those were the days weren't they Bonnie.  A former bride and groom of Cochino also attended with their children. They were Amanda and Olan Turner and family.  I remember their wedding especially as Kathleen Dyches did the décor as well.  I remember vividly when they both rode off on horses when they were pronounced man and wife.  That was gorgeous.  Grandmother of the Bride shared her artistic talents in creating the perfect wedding atmosphere for the Morgan and Christian. A very talented lady who has given her talents  to others as well.  Kathleen Dyches you did great for Morgan and Christian!!!! Always a pleasure to see you coming this way. "Chantilly Bliss -Buffet Coordination"-, Sherry Gauthier proprietor had her crew that worked to make it a stress free day. She is always ahead of schedule and does not miss anything.  With Sherry you do not have to do anything but get in line and get served. All went according to schedule. Sherry's Buffet decorations added to the vintage/country/elegant look that was throughout the lodge.

The tables were elegant and simply decorated with lanterns, log slices , moss and  greenery.  The cakes were presented and served from the Parlor.  I loved this idea and it was beautiful and a different view for this part of the ceremony. Vintage furniture, lighting and ambiance was just as the bride had desired and was already in place.  Everyone enjoyed the beautiful and delicious cakes. The grooms cake reflected tools and a mans duty to know how to use them or he could be in trouble. The Brides cake was beautiful and elegant.  The guests moved from area to area with each event and  enjoyed different views . A progression wedding if you will.  Jars and Jars of Jelly awaited each guest as they left after the wedding. Kathleen Dyches made this treat for everyone to enjoy. Beautiful too.
The wedding ceremony was held on the west deck. A vintage arch was decorated with greenery, flowers and flowing toile.  Pastor   Otis Byers married the couple and he was as gracious as usual.  A great beginning for the new couple as he presented Mr. and Mrs. Thomas to family and friends.
Happily Ever After !!!
