Louisiana-Texas Wedding. You could see the influence of the Star of Texas and the Fleur de lis of Louisiana melded in decor, traditions, food and fun. Many voyaged from New Orleans to witness this marriage. Michelle Peres, of New Orleans, guided the wedding ambiance. Fresh foliage decorated the tables. Unusual greenery such as Fig branches, pear sprays and small pears, rosemary, wild fern frons, bay branches and aged tree limbs adorned the tables. The Bride and Groom's tables were located in the Main lobby where the bride had a beautiful cake surrounded by the Tall vintage candle holders and the Groom's table reflected his interest in hunting with deer antler candle holders and an old wooden box of greenery. The arch was artfully done with billowing and draped organza and kissing balls of flowers. The 'sisters of New Orleans' (aunts) prepared the Louisiana cuisine. Food preparation for this group goes back to their mother who owned a resturant in downtown New Orleans for years and then passed it on to her daughters. The American Cuisine was deliciously done by MarTeres of Lufkin, Texas and was a hit with the crowd. Music was provided by O Entertainment 936-637-1405, Lufkin, Texas. He has a huge selection for any facet of the wedding event. The sound is forever entertaining, fun, novel and unique. As the wedding ceremony ended the music was vibrant and very New Orleans. "The second line dance" began as the guests as well as the newly married couple were waving flags as they danced their way from the alter all the while twirling parasols Such a great tradition and so much fun. Crossfire Photography came in the early morning and stayed until night. Check her out. She does a great job and I should be reposting her work as soon as she sends it.
The families of the couple were both very supportive and made sure that the best wedding possible was had. Everyone worked together to make it happen for the new couple, Mr. and Mrs. Turgeau. Beautiful Bride and Handsome Groom.
