Ardis and Toman, one of those weddings that seem to be taken
from a storybook long ago. Full of nature , whimsy, a timeless feel that would
span back into the ages as well as into the future. They staged it to use what the earth had to
offer. Using what the Earth has given us makes a great memory. This was the
backdrop. The sky, season of spring,
earth and trees were all a part of the day.
Perfect weather. El Campo,
Austin, Houston, Dallas, Warton and many other areas were represented. There
were at least 4 generations represented. Grandparents on through to babies were
there. Décor was orchestrated by Jackie Mercer. She created simplistic Elegance. A great statement. The Lodge was full of fresh greenery and flowers. You felt as if you were outdoors.
The inside became part of the outside
with the magic of Jackie Mercer
and her helpers. The forest also had huge ferns
atop Tree ‘stumps’ strategically placed to line the walkway along with
oriental rugs scattered about. A great entry
way with 10 foot doors welcomed the guests and the bride and groom. A permanent
fixture for entry into the enchanted forest. The refreshments were great, the
food by Margaret Broughtman, of Crockett was bountiful, delicious and enjoyed
by everyone. Her helpers made it happen effortlessly. This group is always welcome. OHHHH and the
sweets brought by Father of the Bride were delicious as well and such a
variety. The miniature pies Margaret made were delicious especially the pecan
and apple. I wish I had one now.
Dalton Gauthier was the DJ who had the music of the bride’s
and groom’s choice. After the wedding and when the dancing began, The guests
marched through the lodge, making a huge circle, dancing their way to the ‘Grand
March’. What a lot of fun. The direction was orchestrated by ‘those who knew’
how it should play out and it was a Grand march for sure. I hope to see this
again at other times. Dalton Gauthier,
did a great job as usual. When Dalton is
at the helm, you don’t have to think on this as he does it all for you.
The officiant, Kush Patel. Was great. He had it all included: Humor, seriousness,
and the words that united the couple who will live happily ever after. And he was like part of the family.
Lauren Reynolds Photography captured the wedding perfectly.
The wedding couple, sky, trees and spring.
The grandfather of the Groom was aka
Harris Ardis, was a great sport in having his vintage Lincoln at
the wedding so that new couple could
rideo into the starry night after they were married. Mr. Ardis took the couple to their honeymoon
destination. He was in his tux and
looked great. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Ardis,
parents of the groom made sure the Lincoln arrived for the tradition of family ‘leaving in the
Lincoln’ to be carried on.
May the new couple live happily everafter , raise a family
with children who have the same view of life that they do and see them marry
and raise a family as well…
making all of life a celebration of happiness and doing good. What more in life is there?
