Amanda Martinez and Clay Golden Celebrate Wedding at Cochino Lodge

April 4, 2015

Spring has finally landed in Houston County, the Oldest county in Texas.  The Lunar Eclipse occurred earlier the morning of the wedding  and  the moon was over the waters of Cochino that night.  The weekend was cold yet it would get warm. It was Sunny and then there was Rain. Timing was very important as everything had to be done before the rains came on Friday night. However on Saturday, the weather was wonderful. A beautiful wedding at the water's edge.  Family and friends came from long distances: Germany, Canada, Kansas, California. And they came from just down the road: Nigton, Trinity County, Lufkin, Nacogdoches, Hudson and surrounding areas.  What a great gathering of family and friends. Officiant for the ceremony was Joe Deason, who had a lot of good advice for the couple and performed a memorable ceremony with the bride and groom offering their personal thoughts to each other.  Music was played throughout the gathering  and during the ceremony by Bryan Harkness.  Great Sound. The Food was delicious and prepared by Burson and Company. Brisket, grilled chicken, twice baked potatoes, homemade breads, beans and that delicious fruit salad and poppy seed dressing was served. A special punch was also prepared by the Company and was like non other.
The Brides Cake was so elegant and sophisticated however the Groom's cake-with a pick-up truck sitting atop of it, was spinning chocolate on one side the the Bride's cake.  So appropriate.   So Texas.
Connie Wells, Absolutely Fabulous Weddings, of Hudson/Lufkin was the Wedding Planner. It was just beautiful. The Bride's wishes were put into play and the end result was nothing less than perfect.
Such a warm and inviting ambiance, very elegant with a touch of country.  New designs, rearranging  and unique  ideas were revealed. Connie buzzed throughout the Lodge for 2 days getting it all done as well as orchestrating the wedding ceremony.  All the guests had a great time and danced the night away.
A Beautiful Wedding!!!
