Celebrated Marriage at Cochino Lodge
East Texas Wedding Venue
It was a great September weekend. For Some it was a destination wedding with guests staying over night at Cochino. The weather was very cooperative and the hot temperature held off for the event. There were many guests from Lufkin and the surrounding area. Lot of Nurses, Doctors, Builders and Anesthesiologist who worked together daily and were gathered at Cochino for the wedding of Sarah and Jason,
The Decor was coordinated by Emily May, sister of the Bride and several others who were very efficient and imaginative. The mood of the lodge was friendly and reflected the interests of the sisters Sarah and Emily and complimented the Groom as well. A collection of complimentary vintage items were selected for centerpieces with no two alike however all related. The focal point near the Bride's cake was a vintage dress form with a skirt of old pattern pieces that blended so well with the burlap and toule cake table skirt. This unique piece was brought by Emily May as well as vintage cake toppers of brides and grooms that were placed on each table. Very nostalgic as well was the bridal music chosen, which was the traditional 'here comes the bride' (Wagner). A large crowd filled the pews and there was standing room only. The East Lawn of Cochino with the sun going down made for a picturesque setting.
Food was catered by the Father of the Bride and his helpers. Delicious fish was fried from dusk to into the night and accompanied by all the trimmings. This was a family affair each helping to make this a great celebration. The cakes were not only stunning but delicious as well. Family was also responsible for this great treat for the Bride and Groom.
Dancing on the Dance Deck began as well as those who liked to participate in Karaoke. Judy Fields , FX Entertainment, was on target with song and teaching line dancing as well. Judy pleased the Bridal party in ceremony music as well as celebration music. She has a selection that leaves nothing out.
Professional Photographer was Dona Strong. She is always welcomed to Cochino Lodge and I am happy to see her arrive. Great Photographer that I am looking forward to her sharing of her wedding photographs.
