Zak Benge and Seema Patel became Man and Wife

A grand celebration. Memories for a lifetime.

Zak and Seema both from East Texas took the traditions of East Texas that they had grown up with and were familiar with and melded them with the family traditions of India and Early Texas.  This was a multi-faceted wedding that was magic.  The families came together to celebrate and share in the marriage of this young couple. The support and easey nature of the families had a calming affect on the gathering.   It was a very gentle celebration that was centered on Zak and Seema.   The moon was full and lit the grounds into the night for the unique celebration at Cochino. 

 A rustic cedar arch made with loving care by the groom and his dad stood as one of the Early Texas traditions. From this hung the glistening jewels and prisims that seemed to sparkle throughout- calling and reflecting the traditions of India.  

The relatives of the couple were honored with a collection of photographs displayed at the entrance. Some family members were no longer physically present with the families but were very much there in spirit. 

This was a colorful and jeweled wedding. The groom's mother along with the rest of the bridal party had henna tattoos on the hands which were very artistic. Colorful dress ranged from beaded garmets to denim and boots. 

The music began at the roots of Texas with a singer who had the background and produced a great sound.  From this the music ran the gambet of old to new to  near and far.  The dancing began and no one wanted to stop. 

Cafe India, of Houston ,Kirby Spinks with Lucy Sherrod of Crockett and Sue Burson of CenterHill welcomed everyone to an array of different foods. Each one of these caterers presented their specialty foods. 

This was a special part of the wedding that delighted everyone .  The guests sampled some of everything.

Roberta Steed Smith was the wedding coordinator as well as close family friend who kept everything on tract and in order.  From the decor to the finish line Roberta  was at the right place at the right time directing  the ceremony.  The families were there also to do  anything that needed to be done.

The Wedding Photographer was Donna H. Quarles whose photographs will follow and are identified with her name on them.  Donna began early and stayed late. A great photographer who has been to Cochino many times.

The Wedding Cake was delicious and gorgous. Edible jewels decorated the cake.

Ms. Scott from Lufkin was the cake artist who made the cake exactly as the bride photo showed it to be.
