Cochino Lodge was chosen for the Reception of the West and Dickenson Wedding Reception.
The mother of the Bride had to work 'long distance' in getting her plans ready for the Lodge. Living in Dallas and having the reception at Cochino was met with great enthusiasm and ease once the 'reception' workers began. A 'sunny day picnic' was the feel of the day. Yellow plaid runners, baskets, fresh flowers and picnic food (right down to the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches & Lemonade) helped to create the perfect picnic. Many guests caravanned from the Wedding held at the First Baptist Church in Crockett to Cochino Lodge. A delightful group of people who enjoyed themselves at the 'picnic' in the Davy Crockett National Forest surrounded by tall pine trees, water and a beautiful sky. Music was by, Judy Fields with Fun FX who brings music to Cochino Lodge almost every month. She is so good at keeping the crowd involved in the sounds the couple picked out, so good that they did not stop for 3 hours enjoying the rhythm and sounds and this was in the middle of the day!!!!!. Fried chicken, beans, potato salad, watermelon, all sorts of other fruit, beef and biscuits, cobbler and pudding along with sodas, lemonade, and tea were catered by Margaret Broughton and her Crew of helpers. It was delicious and plenty of it. Grandough Baking Company did a great- 5 tiered cake for the Bride. The Grooms perfectly-Texas cake was by Margaret Broughton . Both so delicious as well.
Professional Photographers Harbuck and Company worked throughout to take all those special photographs for years of enjoyment then to be handed down generations and to be placed at future weddings to honor those who married before them. Many new acquaintances were made and both families are much larger now than before. So many people drawn together by the marriage of these two. These are Happy times to savor with more memories to be made for many years to come.
