Cochino Lodge

It was 104 degrees in the shade but friends and relatives came from Kansas, Iowa, California as well as Galveston, Texas, Houston, Dallas, Missouri City, Garrison and Nacogdoches.  The gathering of these families was a large gathering.  The industrial size bar-b-q pit came in on what looked like an 18 wheeler trailer. The head "chef" began on Friday evening, stayed up all night and had a delicious spread the next day for the reception. The families rented the cabins at Cochino and retired there after the rehersal dinner on Firday and wedding on Saturday.  It was great for them not to have to begin the journey back home.  The Newly married couple also spent their first the night at Cochino.   The  Family baked the wedding cake, prepared the other sweets and fruit and did the decor. It was a grand day for visiting, football, fishing and don't forget trying to stay 'cool'.  The wedding theme was all about water, sand, shells and the beach.  Shanda and Julius brought a little of the beach and Island life  with them for the decor and it worked out really well.

Handsome Brothers always there for eachother.

Hot day with a novel arrangement for cool water.

The cake was unusual. Family of the Groom made sure it was exactly as the Bride and Groom wanted. Sea Shells and star fish could all be eaten. Delicious cake too.

The new couple put their initials in the sea sand

The wedding party had quite a few young attendants. Waiting for the wedding, the attendants were busy creating art.

Just after the ceremony

The Bar-B-Q was a 2 day cooking affair. It began Friday night and continued throughout the night into the next day.  The "chef" did not sleep Friday night as he tended the cooking. There was a lot of food.

From Garrison, Texas the "Chef" and his crew brought their cooking rig.

The DJ, Julian Haynes from Livingston, Texas had a variety of music for the dance as well as Wedding music.  His 'helper' was part of the wedding party that loved music. So he helped out.

Wedding attendent who kept the crowd moving and well seated. Traveled from Houston to attend the wedding. The 'bearing' fire did not deter him, however he kept a good watch on the conditions.
